Lori Garson has been a dedicated dance mom for the past 11 years when her two daughters; Mikaela and Madelynn began dancing. She quickly came into the competitive dance world when her oldest daughter started competing at age 6, with her youngest following soon after. Lori and her family moved to the Kootenays in 2015 from Vancouver Island and the girls started dancing with Kootenay Dance Academy right away. They soon became part of the Competitive Dance Team and their whole family have been a part of the KDA family for the last 5 years.
Lori is also a travel agent, she books all the hotels for competitions, team events outside of the studios (such as team dinners, family parties, etc.). As well as the studios bigger travel trips, recently Hawaii in 2018 where the competitive team performed Hairspray.
Lori is very familiar with how the competitive dance world works for families. She has been to many dance competitions with her daughters and has been a great support for families, especially those new to the competitive world. She keeps the Competitive Dance Team parent Facebook page updated with pertinent information, motivating quotes, silly dance parent memes and is always cheering on and rooting for our entire dance team.
She is always somewhere to be found in and around the studio in Kimberley and sometimes Cranbrook. You’ll find her easily with her big friendly smile and corky personality.
