Robin grew up in Ontario and began to explore her love for dance when her mom enrolled her in her first tap class when she was a young girl. This was the beginning of many years dedicated to dance, and eventually led to her owning and operating her own studio that grew substantially within a couple of years. During that time, she graduated from an intensive 3 year dance teachers training school where she became a nationally certified instructor of dance with ADAPT (Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers). She specializes in Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop, and her experience with instructing dance has led to high achievements from her students in both examinations and competitions. Robin has continued to develop her qualifications in working with children, and has a diverse University and College Education in child, youth and family studies, graduating with distinction on both the Dean’s List and the Honour Roll. With her extensive background in both dance training and childhood education, she is able to offer instruction that supports a warm, nurturing, fun experience, while also focusing on a high level of technique. Her aim is to train dancers in a way that helps them to achieve their goals, encourage confidence & team work, and to strengthen and celebrate their abilities. She is very excited to be able to share her love and passion for dance with the students of Kootenay Dance Academy.
